Event description

Description

Please join us as together we release 489 butterflies. Each butterfly represents a woman, a boy, a girl who will find safety at Elgin's Emergency Shelter this year. Each woman & child, as they pursue their hopes for safer lives, needs the love & support of our community.

$30 sponsors one butterfly. $120 sponsors a whole family. A tax receipt will be issued for your donation. Please consider sharing this invitation with your friends, family, & co-workers and asking them to sponsor a butterfly or two!

Then we hope you can join us on Saturday September 30th at 1:30pm for our first annual butterfly release!

Your generosity will ensure transportation 24 hours a day from anywhere across the County to the safety of Women's Place Elgin's Emergency Shelter. This is no small moment rather it is life changing.

-------------------------------------

If you would prefer to sponsor butterflies by cash or cheque, please pop by our community office at Suite 26 - 300 Talbot Street in St. Thomas or call 519.633.0155.

Please know that butterflies are not harmed by this event. They have been raised with care, fed, and sent gently to us for release at a time that is conducive for their migration to Mexico. There will be female and male butterflies released to help re-establish the monarch butterfly population that has been so effected by human activity.
