Event description
Join us in sharing reflections on engagement with difference, holding space for community and learning within diverse communities.

About this Event

The SFU Centres for Dialogue and Comparative Muslim Studies invite you to attend “Shared Learning: Engaging with Difference”, a dialogue to share reflections on engagement with difference, holding space for community and learning within diverse communities.

The Dialogue will be a unique opportunity to reflect and learn from inter-community relationships by thoughtfully engaging with our varying experiences. Our differences often disrupt collective empowerment, this space seeks to create bridges founded upon diversity and openness. The Muslim Community Fellowship originated as an idea of gathering young Muslim leaders in Vancouver with diverse backgrounds to meet and develop the skills needed to navigate social systems. The purpose of their work is to enact positive social change and encourage engagement within their communities and the greater Vancouver society. The inaugural Fellowship cohort will share some of their learnings to ground our conversation.

We invite members of the Muslim community, dialogue and engagement practitioners, and those interested in learning more about holding space and engaging with difference to attend the dialogue and build relationships with one another through the dinner that follows.

About the Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies
