About this event

SHKOON finally came back with another concept album “Masrahiya”, which is Arabic and stands for theater play. Shkoon created a strong message again, with a diverse piece of art combined with a concert tour.

This play 'Masrahiya' delves deep into the blurred boundaries between reality and fiction, where the lines of truth and imagination intertwine like a mesmerizing dance. As the three captivating chapters unfold, tragedy, politics, and irony are seamlessly woven together, creating a tapestry of emotions that leaves the audience spellbound.

Shkoon creates an atmosphere filled with texture and spice and takes their listener to new spheres.

In addition to their own lyrics, the band is using old traditional music elements of the Arab community, such as arabic folklore, which today is more relevant than ever. In their sets, oriental melodies partner up with occidental electronics.Their compositions beautifully merged traditions, showcasing the limitless possibilities of music.

The album is situated between influences of electronic downbeat, deep house, dub and hip-hop. Piano, violin, synthesizers, percussion and vocals merge with oriental melodies and western electronic beats. The listener will be taking on a journey that blurs the boundaries of cultures.

ABOUT SHKOON

Shkoon's collaboration began in 2015, when fate united Ameen from Syria and Thorben from Germany in Hamburg. Their harmonious melodies led them to the pinnacle of Arab electronica, where they became known for their musical sophistication.

In December 2019, they released 'Rima,' captivating listeners worldwide and performing in cities all over Europe, Middle East and North Africa. Despite challenges due to Ameen's refugee status, their passion only grew, connecting them with music lovers worldwide.

Guided by a spirit of musical diplomacy, Shkoon blended arabic folklore, own lyrics with western electronic music. Their compositions beautifully merged traditions, showcasing the limitless possibilities of music.
