Description

The Department of Psychology at Queen's University is hosting a 3-day workshop on Social Network Analysis from June 24-26th. We are very excited to announce that this workshop will be lead by Dr. Leslie Echols. Dr. Echols is an assistant professor at Missouri State University and is the Social Network instructor for Stats Camp. Her research interests include peer relations in the school context, evolutionary psychology, interventions for peer victimization, as well as statistics and measurement.

Participants in this workshop will learn how to:

  • Develop research questions appropriate for social network analysis

  • Collect social network data

  • Transform traditional data structures into social networks

  • Use social network statistics in traditional linear modeling

  • Perform cross-sectional social network analysis such as:

    • QAP/MRQAP (for examining correlations within and between networks)

    • Network autocorrelation models (for examining peer influence)

    • Exponential random graph models (for predicting tie formation)

All analyses will be performed in R (data and code will be provided).

This workshop is FREE for graduate students and faculty. Space is limited, however, so register as soon as possible to hold your spot!

Please note that the exact location and times for this workshop will be announced closer to the date.
