About this Event

Spring for Peace 2020

At this critical time in the containment of COVID-19, and in the interest of flattening the curve, we have decided to host our 17th Annual Spring For Peace event online, where, among other things, we will honour the recipient of the 4th Annual Peacebuilders’ Community Champion Award. While this certainly won’t be the Spring For Peace experience we’re all used to, we believe that it is important to help our supporters and guests find ways to connect with each other and with Peacebuilders during this period of stress and isolation.

In these unprecedented times, your continued support is more important to Peacebuilders than ever. Our staff will be providing crucial services to some of this city’s most vulnerable young people during this challenging period, through mechanisms that respect the importance of social distancing. We know that COVID-19 will have a disproportionate impact on vulnerable and imprisoned communities. If we are no longer able to provide our programs and youth cannot be diverted out of the prison system, we are only furthering the spread and the impact of this pandemic.

We are committed to preserving important components of Spring For Peace. To that end, our fantastic array of wines and silent auction items will again be available through an online Silent and Fine Wine Auction experience. We are also exploring new auction items to support people’s current needs. Proceeds will benefit Peacebuilders’ ongoing community engagement efforts at a time when the youth we serve need us most.

This year more than ever, Peacebuilders’ viability will depend on your support of our Spring For Peace online event and it is important to us to extend our appreciation of your support during this critical time. We will make sure that all support of this year’s online Spring For Peace event will receive a tax receipt for the maximum allowable amount, along with appropriate recognition on Peacebuilders’ website, social media, and at our annual Fall dinner. Your support is vital to Peacebuilders’ ability to help our young people who are now more vulnerable than ever.

Peacebuilders is fully supportive of all necessary efforts to maximize public safety, and we continue to monitor public health information related to COVID-19 very closely. More details about our virtual event are forthcoming.

We thank you for your understanding and hope that you will be able to continue supporting Peacebuilders to whatever extent possible in the circumstances.
