    This 2 part workshop will help Leaders understand the continuum of mental health and how it impacts the workplace.

    Topics:

    • Understand the continuum of mental health and how it impacts the workplace
    • Create strategies for prevention, including building a culture of psychological health & safety in the workplace
    • Practice strategies to manage complex employee situations involving mental health concerns: managing performance and developing accommodation
    • Review return-to-work processes
    • Create an action plan to implement in your workplace

    Learning Outcomes:

    • Be aware that mental health problems exist in all workplaces
    • Be responsive to the need to provide support
    • Remember that managers still need to manage performance even when there are existing mental health problems
    • Prepare in advance for situations in which you may need to approach an employee
    • Know your boundaries, responsibilities and options for providing accommodations
    • Consider the need to create a return-to-work plan
    • What is your plan of action?
