Bernie's Buddies helps kids live again after a death loss.
Our half day camps take place in a peer group where everyone participating has experienced a death loss. Our groups feature a therapy dog visit, yoga movement and meditation, and a creative project.
Through these activities, we learn to help ourselves and each other navigate big grief feelings so that everyone belongs and no one feels alone.
This half day camp is for kids ages 7 to 12.
Parents/caregivers are welcome to stay and observe our session, connect with each other or take this time for themselves (there are several places nearby to have a coffee or meal or enjoy a walk in Miner's Marsh).
Thanks to generous donors and community supporters, our workshops are available at no cost to participants and families!

My child's age falls outside 7 to 12 years. Can he/she still participate?
We do our best to ensure the focus for our group is age and developmentally appropriate for our participants. Please contact us directly if your child is outside of this age range and you feel they'd like to join us.
My child attended a previous Bernie's Buddies session - can he/she participate again?
Absolutely! Grief is experienced over time and although we may cover some of the same topics or activities, these can resonate in different ways during additional sessions, encouraging our kids to discover new skills to express themselves or feel supported in their grief.
