Description

Meet the wonderful wild plants and mushrooms popping up right in your backyard!

Join forager, wildcrafter, and educator Bryan Dowkes for an introduction to urban foraging. Learn how to safely identify, ethically harvest, and prepare wild spring edibles common to our parks, lawns, and backyards.

Get to know species such as wild grape, wild raspberry, staghorn sumac and more. The walk will take about two hours at a leisurely pace. Feel free to bring a notebook and camera.

Where: Hog's Back Falls, Ottawa. Meet under the Culinary Conspiracy snack bar pavilion right next to the falls.

When: Sunday, July 21 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Note: Event will take place rain or shine. Come prepared for the weather!

Kid Friendly Event: Attendees 15 and under who are accompanied by an adult are free. Just RSVP to reserve the appropriate number of spaces.
