Description

A series of workshops led by and for people with lived experience of mental health, transitional housing, addictions and members of the community. Sharing stories of success with living beyond their challenges, exchanging skills and coping strategies, participants will walk away empowerd and inspired. These workshops are peer led and will take place at the LookOut Emergency Aid Society Yukon Housing Centre. This project is funded by the Consumer Initiative Fund (CIF).

The objective is to educate and support individuals in developing healthy coping strategies and a supportive network. Bring awareness to the community and breaking down stigma around mental health and addictions. Supportive Connections will have empowered adult learners with the skill needed to successfully grow in their future relationships and work environments including a support network of peers; by using effective coping strategies and stress reducing techniques that has and will further help overcome anxiety, depression, or whatever diagnosis it may be, increase self-esteem and confidence, giving them the HOPE to live a lifestyle that makes them feel better and stay well.
