Sustainability Awareness Week
October 24 to 28, 2016
Sustainability Awareness Week (SAW) is the University of Alberta's annual week-long celebration of all things
sustainability. Hosted by the university’s Office of Sustainability in partnership with more than 50 campus and Edmonton organizations, the week is comprised of more than 50 events, tours, speakers and presentations running across three UAlberta campuses: Augustana Campus, Campus Saint-Jean and North Campus.
The week’s activities are designed to help the university community, alumni and members of the general public learn more about sustainability, discover what sustainability-related initiatives are happening on campus and how anyone can get involved and make a difference.

When & Where
University of Alberta's Office of Sustainability
Founded in 2009 at the University of Alberta, the Office of Sustainability informs and inspires students, staff and faculty to adopt sustainable practices. As a bridging organization, the office aims to help campus community members to deliver projects and connect to information, experts, tools and funding options. The university takes an integrated approach to sustainability by incorporating teaching, research, operations and the outreach services needed to support them. To foster this integration, the campus sustainability initiative is structured in three strands: outreach and engagement, academic teaching and research, as well as facilities, operations and services.
