Sustainable Kingston's First Annual Evening of Recognition

Join us for a celebration of the leadership shown by local organizations and businesses, including Green Economy Kingston members and their commitment to sustainability.
On May 24th, Sustainable Kingston is hosting its First Annual Evening of Recognition to recognize the outstanding contributions of businesses, organizations, and individuals across Kingston.

- Three-course meal provided by Tulips & Maple Catering
- Keynote presentation
- An awards ceremony celebrating Sustainable Leaders and Green Economy Kingston members
- Cash bar featuring VQA wine and local breweries
- Sustainable Kingston will also release its 2016 Annual Report at the event
The Evening's Host
Julie Brown, CKWS, Anchor
A native of Toronto and a graduate of the University of Toronto and Sheridan College, Julie Brown has been a part of the CKWS news team since 2003. After working as a Videographer for Rogers Television and CHEX-TV, Julie joined CKWS in 2003. As co-host for Newswatch @ 5:30, Julie covered numerous community happenings, including the annual Kingston Buskers Festival, The Belleville Waterfront and Ethnic Festival and the Festival of the Islands. Her next career move took her behind the anchor desk at CKWS, as co-host of Newswatch at six, a position she held for over 10 years. She currently serves as News Anchor and co-host of The Morning Show, and Anchor of CKWS News at Noon.
An active member of the community, Julie supports numerous charities, including Easter Seals and the United Way’s Success by Six program. Her passions include reading, cooking, working out and spending time with family and friends.
