About this event

UPDATE JULY 6, 2020

Dear Valued Talk Trauma participant,

We hope this message finds you well and staying cool. The past several months have transformed our world in so many ways and continues to demand that we think and act thoughtfully to keep each other safe. Out of an abundance of caution and careful consideration, the executive committee for the Talk Trauma Conference has decided to further postpone the 20th Anniversary Talk Trauma Conference until April 7th & 8th, 2021. We suspect that large gatherings of people, such as the 200+ medical professionals who typically attend Talk Trauma, will continue to be high risk scenarios for COVID-19 transmission into October. We also feel that the educational content delivered at this conference is best done in person, so we must wait until it is safe to do so. We were very excited about our conference on Burns, Bleeding and Blasts and hope to keep as many presenters as possible for next April.

All participants will automatically receive a full refund within the next 7 business days and are asked to register again in February 2021.

We hope to see you there!Frontline care providers in our community and surrounding region have dealt with the constant evolution of change as a result of COVID-19 with professionalism and bravery which has made us abundantly proud. We look forward to celebrating frontline care providers at our Talk Trauma Conference in April 2021!

Wishing you a wonderful and safe summer,

Alison Armstrong (Talk Trauma Co-Chair)

Trauma Program Manager,

Amy Makish (Talk Trauma Co-Chair)

Trauma Nurse Practitioner,

Kristine Hooghiem (Pediatric Talk Trauma Chair)

Pediatric Trauma Nurse Practitioner,

Dr. Neil ParryTrauma Medical Director, VH Chief of Surgery

UPDATE MARCH 11, 2020

Dear Talk Trauma Registrant,

Based on the latest guidance from London Health Sciences Centre and public health officials regarding the restrictions on work-related travel and gatherings, the Talk Trauma Committee has had to make a difficult but necessary decision.

After considerate discussion, the Talk Trauma Committee has agreed that we must postpone the Talk Trauma Conference, set to take place April 15-16 in London, Ontario. We understand how much this conference means to everyone, and this decision was not made with ease. The health and safety of our community, attendees, sponsors and exhibitors are our top priority.

What Happens Next?

Happily, we have been able to re-booked the Talk Trauma Conference for October 21st and 22nd!! Your registration will be automatically changed to match the new dates. You do not need to contact anyone from the Talk Trauma Committee to initiate the process. Please remember to change/cancel any personal arrangements you’ve made, such as travel and accommodations.

If this change is problematic for you however, we would ask you to contact tammy.mills@lhsc.on.ca for a full refund.

We thank everyone for understanding the extreme difficulty of this decision and for your commitment to the success of this conference. This conference would not be possible without the support from our speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, and community partners who share their time, expertise, collaboration and leadership. Thank you all for your contributions.

Sincerely,

Talk Trauma Planning Committee 2020

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of our Adult Talk Trauma conference we are hosting our largest event yet!

To accommodate the increase in attendance, this year the conference will take place at the Hellenic Community Centre on Southdale road in London.

The theme is “Burns, Blasts & Bleeding” with a phenomenal lineup of riveting presenters to match! Topics presented will include aspects of acute care of the trauma patient, injury prevention followed by rehabilitative and supportive care.

Inspired by the global focus on climate change, we are proud to share that the Talk Trauma conference is Going Green this year! Our organizational committee is dedicated to minimizing paper waste associated with conference preparation and administration.

Once you have registered, please visit www.eventmobi.com/talktrauma to access our Talk Trauma App or download EventMobi from your app store and type in event code 'talk trauma'.
