About this event

Session 3: This third session will focus on Integration, the third of the three key components (Visibility and Awareness, Security and Integration) of the GOC’s Endpoint Visibility, Awareness and Security (EVAS) project.

This session will focus on Tanium’s integrations with the world’s leading hardware and software companies to meet the needs of mutual customers and enhance what they can provide across the Tanium platform.

In the past, the Government of Canada’s (GoC) security solutions have operated in silos, which resulted in inefficiencies, potential duplication of capabilities, high CAPEX and OPEX costs, and limited integration between systems. Automation and orchestration capabilities are limited, as is the correlation of security-related data between systems, inhibiting the detection and prevention of threats, and increasing the time to resolution.

In this session, we will demonstrate how GoC’s endpoint security solutions (including visibility and awareness) would be integrated into a variety of workspaces developed for a wide variety of tasks. SSC would support GoC clients in engineering endpoint solutions with standardized categories of products and services, ensuring each client’s specific needs are met.

The demonstration will cover:

  • How integration will help increase the security posture (e.g. better prevention, detection, response time), by correlating data and having enhanced situational awareness and automation. For example, integrating endpoint visibility and awareness with vulnerability information will allow for near-real-time posture and risk assessments of GoC endpoints against threats and vulnerabilities
  • GoC could reduce operational costs by having enhanced integration between security solutions, and higher levels of automated responses to threats
  • Given that the technical characteristics of endpoints vary greatly between and within GoC clients, we will demonstrate how products and services offerings would be tailored to differing types of endpoints regardless of physical or virtual format, OS, other existing management tools or networks. Examples would include how one architecture can be the unified integration point for different partner departments and their specific security requirements in a multi-vendor EPP/EDR environment
  • Demonstrate integrations with incident and service requests management systems, configuration management databases, log aggregators and SIEM systems as well as security orchestration automation and response systems
  • In addition, these integrations would take into account both the existing architecture as well as anticipated future procurements to support forwards and backwards compatibility for both technology and process. We will cover how to leverage existing investments and gain independence with the ability to be agile in deploying future endpoint technologies

ipss and Tanium are pleased to announce that we will be donating $25 for every attendee to the Ottawa Food Bank in response to COVID-19.
