About this event
Come rejuvenate at our beloved oasis - Toronto Island Yoga Centre! Although only minutes from downtown Toronto, the tranquil and green environment will have you feeling far removed from the noise and distractions of city life.
This retreat is a short ferry ride from downtown Toronto, providing easy access to an all-day event in the calm and serene community of Toronto Island.
Find peace within through yoga, meditation and delicious vegetarian meals fresh from the garden.

Montana Skurka
I am a yoga & meditation teacher and Integrative Wellness Educator with over ten years of experience guiding individuals of all ages to discover their inner wisdom. My dedication towards assisting individuals with their wellness and mental health led me to obtain certifications in health coaching and 300-hr yoga teacher training from Ahimsa Yoga Centre.
My classes and personalized services provide students with a supportive and friendly environment to access their innate healing potential. I lead self care and mindful movement programs and offer 1:1 guided embodiment sessions across the GTA, as well as Yoga in the Park during the spring & summer.
I also serve as a patient advocate, writing, speaking out and facilitating workshops on the importance of the mind-body connection.

Sierra Day
Food and nutrition have always been pillars in my life. From a young age I was captivated by food and started leading family meals and growing vegetable gardens. This fascination allowed me to obtain a degree in culinary arts and a BaSc in nutrition and food. I am now a culinary nutritionist, where I use my expertise to help local restaurants build healthy menus.
This love for food is complemented by another life long passion of mine - Yoga. I believe in a holistic approach to yoga; one that allows us to nourish and connect our minds, bodies and spirits through mindful eating, nature and community.
Frequently asked questions
The retreat will take place at Toronto Island Yoga Centre on Algonquin Island.
We will meet at Jack Layton Ferry Terminal to head to Ward's Island together. Sierra and Montana, the retreat facilitators, will be there to greet you with a smile! We ask that you arrive by 10am so we can all catch the boat together. Your ferry ticket is included in the price.
- Yoga mat - Water bottle - Writing utensil - Notebook - Sunscreen & hat - Extra layers of clothing are encouraged, weather-dependant - comfortable pair of shoes - Optional: Beach Attire
We have set up the retreat to accommodate light rain. If, however, the weather conditions do not permit the retreat to take place (heavy rain, etc) we will reschedule the retreat for the following day on Sunday.
The meals being served will be vegan or vegetarian and focus on clean and simple ingredients, catering to an anti-inflammatory diet. If you have any specific dietary restrictions, please reach out and we will accommodate you as best we can.
Whether you are new to yoga or an experienced yogi, or have an injury or health condition - this retreat is designed to be accommodating to all! Please let us know about your specifics and will provide modifications accordingly to ensure that you have a comfortable experience.
