Description

Trans and Two Spirit Day of Remembrance happens every year to honour the lives lost to transphobic violence and suicide. This event will be held on Centennial College's Progress campus in the Fireside Gallery. There will be a screening of a short (25 minutes) Global News segment on the experiences of transgender people in Toronto and Detroit on violence and trans rights, called "The Fight for Trans Rights".*** Following the viewing, there will be an open discussion on the segment, participant experiences, and what we can do to support the Trans and Two Spirit people in our lives and create social change. To close, there will be a remembrance activity and we will also be taking donations for Toby's Place. Lunch will be provided.

This event is a collaboration between Centennial College's Center for Global Citizenship Education and Inclusion and the LGBTQ2+ and Allies Social Club
