True North is an intimate workshop designed to inspire creativity, build the confidence to tell honest stories, and tap into deeper authenticity. The workshop touches on photography, small business, and camaraderie among peers.

ALL-CANADIAN LINE-UP

One of our mandates is to have a Canadian speaker roster. They will speak about shooting weddings, birth and documentary photography, business, pricing, branding, commercial, the importance of generational pictures, and how to write for photographers.

HANDS-ON LEARNING

This workshop is unlike any other. You get to participate in two hands-on learning sessions with the photographer of your choice. An intimate hands-on experience, with very small groups, makes it easier to really dive into the topics and learn with their guidance. They will cover off-camera lighting, documentary, pricing, photo critique, finding your voice, writing, and weddings.

NETWORKING, CRITIQUES, Q+A

We’ll talk business and do some industry networking during lunch hours. In the evening, the entire panel will also participate in a live Q+A for dessert and drinks. And there will be opportunities to have portfolio critiques and reviews.

COMMUNITY, YUMMY FOOD, EPIC PARTY

The theme of True North is community. It is a warm and intimate environment that facilitates new connections and community building. Breakfast and lunch are included in the price of the ticket, and one large group dinner. All of the food and menu is specially crafted for the workshop. And we end with an EPIC party — music, dancing, and maybe even some Karaoke!
