Unit 1A & 1B – Fundamentals of Effective Communication

This program is currently for young students ages 8-16 years, seperate sessions are run for different ages with peer groups.

The emphasis of Unit 1A & 1B is on learning the fundamentals of effective communication, which we consider is the foundation for personal development and personal leadership. Members will develop skills on how to deliver an effective speech or a presentation. In these units members will learn various techniques and skills to help them:

  • Overcome fear of public speaking
  • Create memorable and compelling openings and closings for speeches
  • Deliver their speeches effectively and emphatically
  • Use proper eye contact to connect with the audience
  • Use tonal variation and pauses to convey emotions meaningfully
  • Use correct body posture and body language to portray confidence
  • Use the stage effectively to connect with and engage the audience

We incorporate exciting team activities throughout the units to develop their collaboration, communications and negotiation skills.
