About this event

NOTE: PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER USING THEIR TDSB EMAIL OR YOUR REGISTRATION WILL BE CANCELLED WITHOUT NOTICE.

This 30-minute presentation will provide participants the understanding and the benefits of using an IAS for their students. An IAS is a tool that promotes independence by using pictures, text or both to depict a series if activities the student completes. We need to help our students with ASD to utilize the same cues we all use to manage ourselves and our time. This is the ultimate goal of using an IAS. This presentation will focus on providing an understanding of what pre-requisite skills are needed, how to plan and prepare the IAS, choosing the level of guidance required and understanding and implementing the teaching sequence. The possibilities are endless once the system is mastered.

TEAMS platform works best on PCs through web browser link. Otherwise, participants can download the TEAMs app on their phones to participate.

Mute microphone and turn off video when logging into the presentation.

NOTE: Participants will receive the link to join the training, by email, the day before the event. Please add wellness.registration@surreyplace.ca to your contact list to avoid the link going to your spam/junk folder.
