In this one-week course, you will learn how a professional film set runs safely and effectively. Through instructor led hands-on exercises, you will be introduced to the 5 key disciplines taught in the Vancouver Film School's Film Production course: Directing, Producing, Production Design, Cinematography, and Post-Production. Students will take roles on a set in order to direct actors and shoot a short scene which will then be edited and showcased on the final day. Major topics in this week will include the business and politics of the Film & TV industry, the duties of all key role personnel in pre-production, production, and post-production. An emphasis on proper set protocol and etiquette as well as post production work flow will provide a running theme of the course.
Note: On the Wednesday, students should expect to stay until 7pm as it's a filming day.
