About this event

  • 1 day 7 hours

Violence against women does not mean only physical violence. It is much broader and includes sexual, emotional, psychological and financial abuse. The National Plan targets two main types of violence against women – domestic and family violence, and sexual assault.

The VAW Conference on Women and Culture will engage participants from across the globe in the exploration of multidisciplinary topics such as social norms and role of women in cultural settings within various societies, the meaning of VAW in the past and modern societies, women’s contemporary and historical experiences, and the multiple social identities.
