Description

Join us for a series of microtalks on the opportunities for virtual and augmented reality in education, health and training.

Network with other developers, entrepreneurs and enthusiasts.

Help us celebrate the Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund, along with Faculties of Rehabilitation Medicine, Medicine and Dentistry, Engineering, Science, which allowed us to develop multiple virtual reality learning objects in the past two years. Discuss with us our plans for Cognitive Projections moving forward as we make the University of Alberta a centre for VR and AR activity in Edmonton and beyond.

EVENT LOCATION:
Lecture theatre L1-490 in the lower level of Edmonton Clinic Health Academy.

REGISTRATION:
Please arrive before 5PM to register for the speaker event.

PARKING:
Closest parkade is the Jubilee Carpark - Visitors can access the Jubilee Auditorium Car Park from 87 Avenue – access is not available from 114 Street. Surface parking is available on the south side of the auditorium and can be accessed from the west side of the building.

TRANSIT:
We are right by the Health Sciences Jubilee LRT station. For bus lines please search by address.


SPEAKERS:

Keynote speaker: Dan Lejerskar,Chairman at EON Reality
Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality pioneer with over 20 years experience. Founder of EON Reality the world leader in VR & AR based knowledge transfer for industry and education.

Dr. Martin Ferguson-Pell, University of Alberta, Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine
Martin is a biomedical engineer and credentialed clinical scientist. He holds senior administrative and academic positions at University of Alberta. Martin is the Principal Investigator behind Cognitive Projections and has lead his team in the development of Virtual and Augmented reality learning objects for the University of Alberta. Martin and Dr. Greg Kawchuk are the duo behind the Rehabilitation Robotics Lab.

Dr. Thomas Stevenson, University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry
Dr. Thomas Stevenson is currently appointed as Associate Chair, Student Affairs /Oral Surgery in the Dentistry - Education in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. Dr. Stevenson is the content expert behind Cognitive Projection's VR Craniofacial Anatomy and Dental Anesthesia simulators.
