WCS Workshops with Kyle & Melodie (& Dance Party!)

All-Star/Champion WCS dancers Kyle FitzGerald (Toronto) and Melodie Paletta (France) are visiting Waterloo! Come learn from the best! All levels are welcome but you should have some understanding of West Coast Swing basics (at least one or two 5-wk beginner class blocks). STARS WARS THEMED! (Costumes welcomed but not required.)

Workshop Schedule:

1:00pm Check-in and warm-up dancing

1:15-3:15pm All-Levels Workshop with Kyle & Melodie - "(Han) Solo Skills"

3:30-5:30pm All-Levels Workshop with Kyle & Melodie - "Jedi Masterclass"

5:30-7:00pm Dinner Break

Dance Party Schedule:

7:00-8:00pm Intro to West Coast Swing with Mikaela

8:00-11:00pm Social Dance Party! (Star Wars Theme, including Cake for Mikaela's Birthday!)

Intermediate Workshop:

10:15am-12:15pm - "Techniques of the Sith"

We are offering an intermediate workshop with Kyle & Melodie prior to the all-levels workshops. This workshop is intended for Competition Intermediate Level dancers. It will be strictly restricted to meeting a minimum of ONE the following requirements:

• Have been dancing WCS for at least 2.5 years; OR
• Have completed at least 80 hours of WCS group instruction or 25 hours of WCS private instruction; OR
• Have a minimum 6 Novice competition points.

Costs:

• $60+HST per workshop
• $130+HST for the afternoon workshops (all-levels) & Dance Party
• $150+HST for all workshops (Intermediate + all-levels) & Dance Party

MASK & VACCINATION POLICY

Masks and vaccinations are no longer required for public events. Please do your best to keep yourself and your community safe. This means if you are sick, please do not come to class, and if you have been exposed it is recommended that you wear a mask to protect the safety of our community and fellow dancers. If you are sick prior to an event please contact us for a refund minus Eventbrite's booking fees. If you are sick at an event (sniffling/coughing) you will be asked to leave immediately with no refund.

REFUND POLICY

Class passes and workshops will not be refunded except under extreme circumstances, but can be transferred to the next class block if necessary (must be requested), or to another person of the same role (leader/follower).

WAIVER & MEDIA RELEASE

You will be asked to sign a Waiver and Media Release (photos and videos taken during the even may be used in promotional materials or posted on social media). If you have questions about the Waiver prior to purchasing your event pass, please contact us. You cannot participate in Remix Swing events without signing the Waiver.

AGE REQUIREMENT

All participants must be 18+ years old.
