About this Event
It is our pleasure to invite you to attend this month's West Coast Bioenergy Guild Webinar, hosted by BC Bioenergy Network.
BC Bioenergy Network (BCBN) has been following the recent developments regarding COVID-19. As an organization that hosts events or participates in public meetings and other gatherings involving employees, contractors, and guests, BCBN is mindful of our responsibilities to not contribute to the potential spread of COVID-19.
The November meeting for the West Coast Bioenergy Guild will take place by way of videoconference from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Wednesday, December 16th. We invite all those interested to tune-in if their schedule permits.
Our Special Guest for the December 16th Guild is Michael Wolinetz, Partner at Navius Research, Inc.
Michael is a partner at Navius Research, Inc. where he uses quantitative methodologies to explore how current and emerging technologies, market drivers, and government policies interact to impact the economy, energy consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions. His work touches on all energy end-uses across all sectors of the economy. He has a background in physical sciences, energy modelling and economics and holds a Master’s of Resource and Environmental Management from Simon Fraser University.
About the Presentation: "Highlights from the Biofuels in Canada Project".
Michael will provide a summary and discussion of the Biofuels in Canada project. This annual analysis and report uses public data to catalog the volume of transportation biofuels consumed in each Canadian province while estimating the impact of biofuel consumption on greenhouse gas emissions and transportation energy costs. The 2020 edition includes data running from 2010 to 2018.
Objective of the Guild: The objective is for attendees to share knowledge and develop relationships. This foundation will accelerate the sector.
Background: Established in 2009, the Guild is a monthly social gathering in the bioenergy/cleantech sector. After the presentation, there will be time for questions and group discussion. The event finishes at 12:00 pm.
