Gordon Neighbourhood House (GNH) is proud to hosts West End Community Clean-up events to bring together people who are passionate about keeping their community clean and beautiful. Our program is driven by hundreds of dedicated volunteers of all ages who join our Community Cleanups events and contribute thousands of hours to keep our community clean and sustainable. People are encouraged to come together at our Community Cleanups to have fun keeping our West End residential sidewalks clean and beautiful. A group of participants gather at Gordon Neighbourhood House (1019 Broughton Street) and enjoy volunteering by dedicating a couple of hours outdoors to keep our sidewalks and parks clean and sustainable. Our events may include a free community barbeque, a free community hot breakfast, or a door prize and may also engage or involve a partner or sponsor at the event. The cleanp-up commences and ends at Gordon Neighbourhood House (1019 Broughton St.).
All participants must register for the event on Eventbrite prior to attending. On the day of the event volunteers are paired and are equipped with all supplies and tools (this includes the route to cover, a garbage bag, pa air of gloves and a child or adult picker). Volunteers are given guidelines on what to collect and not to collect. The clean-up lasts for about two hours and commence and end at Gordon Neighbourhood House. Community Clean-ups occur on Saturdays between April and Sept ember, and at various times throughout the year for organized groups.
Gordon Neighbourhood House hosts these Community Clean-up Events with the following goals:

By registering and participating in the event, you agree to treat everyone with respect regardless of race, gender, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, ability, religion, ancestry, political affiliation, language, financial status, age, record of offenses, immigration or family status. You also agree to obey and follow all laws and regulations, directions, rules, policies, procedures, training, or orientation provided prior, during and after the event. You also agree to the use of your name, quotations, photography, video footage, audiotaping or any film footage of yourself. You hereby grant Gordon Neighbourhood House, its successors, assigns and licensees the perpetual right to use media, as they desire. You understand that all the rights belong to Gordon Neighbourhood House and that your efforts will not give rise to any compensation, financial or otherwise. You understand that you will not be provided with a copy of the film, photo or audio recording for personal use or commercial purposes such as broadcasting publishing, uploading or streaming, online or offline. Data for this program is collected mainly for the purpose of communicating with all and any aspects of Gordon Neighbourhood House, including the promotion, marketing and surveys for this event, any other similar or related Gordon Neighbourhood House programs and events, as well as any accociated sponsors, events and partners of these programs with GNH.
