What Business Analysts need to know about Cyber Security

We have all heard the high profile stories about organizations being “hacked” and the resulting fallout. As a result, many organizations now have specialists or a department to address IT Security. However, cybercrime and disruption goes far beyond stealing credit card numbers or identity information from large organizations, and putting in effective mitigation strategies is not just for “techies”.

Go beyond the headlines and learn about the scope and current trends in IT Security. Learn what vulnerabilities we need to be aware of, and what we should be seeking to protect. Most importantly, come learn the role business analysts should play in addressing these issues in our everyday work as trusted advisors to our organizations and clients.

About the Speaker: Kin Kwan is the Security Officer for TELUS Health, the largest electronic medical records (EMR) provider in Canada. Previously, Kin has led the cyber security program at BCAA and Coast Capital Savings. Having worked as a senior security professional in organizations across many industries such as in the health, financial, and public sectors. Kin has provided a unique and practical approach to security and helped elevated the security posture of these organizations.
