In partnership with Abbozzo Gallery and CAMH | womenmindtm, join us for an exclusive opulent evening of networking and celebration of the rich tapestry of women's identities within the diaspora. This is happening in concert with the Tech Conference Collision so though part of this evening will be dedicated to various art forms where we will explore themes of peace, unity, and cultural diversity, this is also an evening of networking. This in-person gathering promises to be a vibrant celebration of empowerment and creativity. INFORMATION: Curating some of my favourite artists and photographers, I invite you to join me for an evening of introspection, celebration, and connection at "Women, Identity, and the Diaspora: A Celebration of Peace through Art." This unique event will feature the powerful works of four exceptional artists, each exploring the complex journey of women of color (WOC) through the lenses of identity, vulnerability, and strength.

Featured Artists:

Moses Salihou - Known for his evocative paintings that capture the essence of African heritage and contemporary identity, Moses Salihou is a Cameroonian artist based in Toronto. His work blends elements of portraiture and abstraction to explore ideas of belonging and existence. Salihou has exhibited across the United States, Canada, Europe, New Zealand, Africa, and Asia.

Nancy Kim - Nancy 상봉 (Sang Bong) Kim, known as NSBKIM, is a celebrated Canadian photographer of Korean descent and a Getty Images contributor. Starting her career in Toronto's nightlife scene, she has become a sought-after fashion and portrait photographer known for her inclusive and empowering work. Active in both Toronto and New York, Nancy’s portfolio includes collaborations with top brands and events like Fashion Art Toronto and New York Fashion Week

The Kollective The Kollective is a creative agency dedicated to uplifting underrepresented artists and businesses created by Kiran Rai and Baljit Singh. We offer branding, image consulting, photography, graphic design, and videography services, connecting talent with aligned clients. Our mission is to empower creatives with paid opportunities and portfolio growth.

Kiran Rai Kiran Rai, known as KayRay, is a Toronto-based actor and filmmaker. She focuses on South Asian taboos through films like "Ananke" and "Haneri," and series like "Anarkali." Co-founder of The Kollective, she champions BIPOC artists and has hosted over 50 workshops globally. Her show "Cha Da Cup With KayRay" airs on Brit Asia TV, and her work has been featured in Vogue and The Toronto Star.

Baljit Singh Baljit Singh is a Toronto-based analog photographer and storyteller specializing in POC narratives. As co-founder of The Kollective, she excels in cinematography, graphic design, and writing. Her work, featured in Vogue and Cosmopolitan, combines nostalgia with modern elements, contributing to international exhibitions.

SPECIAL GUEST: Angela H. Kim is a Toronto-based fine artist, freelance curator, art director, and art educator. Formerly a gallery director in downtown Toronto, Angela recently resigned from this role. Taking a temporary hiatus to prioritize her mental health and embrace motherhood, Angela has now returned to her art practice. Currently, she is focusing on personal growth and inner strength, aiming to support individuals navigating mental health challenges, addiction, and depression. Angela holds a BFA from OCAD University, and her works have been featured in Nuit Blanche, galleries, Dundas Square Billboards, TTC, magazines, and various forums.

Bhavya Dixit - Bhavya Dixit is a traditional Indian artist who brings ancient art forms into modern dialogue, focusing on feminist narratives.
Isha Damania - Isha Damania is a South Asian Canadian artist exploring themes of displacement and belonging through her dynamic creations. She was recently featured in her first digital showcase at Art Basel in Miami, FL.
