About this event

In this class at Saskatoon Makerspace, female-identifying and non-binary students will learn the basics of woodworking and how to safely and effectively use power tools in a supportive and inclusive environment. The class will cover topics such as tool selection, basic techniques, and project design. Participants will learn how to use power tools such as the miter saw, table saw, drill press, and hand-held power tools. Through hands-on practice and guided instruction, students will create their own small woodworking project to take home. The class will also emphasize the importance of safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment. This class is suitable for beginners with little to no experience in woodworking or power tool use. All materials and tools will be provided, but students are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for working with wood.
