On Saturday June 8th, Surfrider Foundation Vancouver will be cleaning up and sorting the waste collected at Jericho Beach, and we need your help! Our cleanups are a fun and easy way to get involved and give back.
RSVP so we can log how many volunteers attend and input this data into the national database.
We supply buckets and hand pickers, so we encourage you to sign up, bring your own bucket and picker (tongs work great too!)
Show up to help sort through what people bring back to us during this clean up. As a litter sorter, this is a great way to learn about how we not just pick up litter, but also sort it into the various categories for recycling and proper disposal education.
Safety First: We have a supply of buckets, work gloves, and pickers. But please bring your own gloves and equipment if you have it available! For safety reasons please wear closed toed shoes and always use a picker to sift through the sand to avoid sharp objects. If you come across any sharp or hazardous object, mark it and tell us, our team can handle the safe removal.
