Gotham Park

Gotham Park

Gotham Park is the nonprofit grassroots organization successfully working to reopen, revitalize and reactivate the forgotten spaces under the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge.

After 13+ years of disuse, Gotham Park is creating a new, community-driven 9-acre public space at the crossroads of five great Manhattan neighborhoods - Chinatown, the South Street Seaport, Two Bridges, Little Italy and the Financial District - with healthy open space, environmentally resilient design and recreation areas for all interests, ages and abilities under one of New York City's most iconic landmarks. With the first acre opened on May 24, 2023 and the City committed to opening 4 to 5 additional acres in 2024, Gotham Park is working with our community to realize the full potential of New York City's next great public space.
