Mount Pleasant Group

Nearly 200 years ago, Mount Pleasant Group opened its first cemetery in the location we now know as the bustling corner at Yonge and Bloor. At this time in the early 1820s, there was a growing need to provide non-sectarian cemetery services for the community; a place of burial where all citizens, regardless of faith, could lay their loved ones to rest. Today, we are honoured to provide these services in the same spirit of inclusivity, welcoming all people, and serving the needs of a diverse and growing Greater Toronto Area. Today, we operate 10 cemeteries across the GTA. In addition to being the cherished resting place for many loved ones, our sites have long been a peaceful destination for passive recreation, history buffs, wildlife enthusiasts and tree lovers. Throughout the year, individual locations hold unique events relevant to the communities they serve, such as live music offerings, candlelight memorials, and tree walks with our expert on-site arborists.
