Safeworks Harm Reduction Program

Safeworks is a team of Harm Reduction professionals (Nurses, Social Workers, Outreach Workers, Paramedics, Peer Support Workers and a Dietician) who provide a wide range of outreach public health services at a number of fixed and satellite sites and from a mobile van throughout the City of Calgary.

Safeworks is committed to creating an environment that reduces stigma and discrimination and works holistically with vulnerable populations with a history of drug use and/or high risk behavior including initiation of injecting drugs. Safeworks is strongly based on the global harm reduction approach of public health and respect for human rights.
