Sophie Kaemmerlé didn't set out to become a matchmaker. She set out to figure out why the most remarkable people she knew — ambitious, empathetic, deeply caring — were all single.

Growing up in New York — but immersed in French culture through her education — Sophie has always lived at the intersection of two very different ways of seeing love. The French romantic sensibility that takes relationships seriously as an art form, and the grounded, clear-eyed realism of someone who came of age in one of the world's most demanding cities. It's a combination that turns out to be exactly right for this work.

She lived the problem herself — years of New York dating, endless app-generated introductions, and the particular exhaustion of sitting across from someone and feeling completely disconnected, wondering how someone so accomplished could feel so misunderstood. She watched the same pattern repeat itself in her own circle: extraordinary people who were exceptional at everything except finding someone who truly matched them.

That frustration became a question, and that question became Toi & Moi.

Sophie spent years studying what actually creates lasting compatibility — drawing on psychology, attachment theory, and sociology, and the kind of hard-won personal insight that only comes from navigating dating in one of the world's most demanding cities. What she found is that the problem rarely comes down to a lack of options. It comes down to pattern — the subtle ways driven, self-aware people unconsciously choose the wrong partners, or show up in ways that keep the right ones at a distance.

Her coaching work reflects that. Clients don't just leave with better dates — they leave with a clearer understanding of themselves, what they actually need, and the confidence to recognize it when it's in front of them.

Toi & Moi is Sophie's answer to a matchmaking industry that has never quite understood this kind of person. The service is intentionally small — never more than six clients at a time — because this work requires full attention, genuine care, and the kind of trust that can't be scaled.
