Autism Ontario Windsor-Essex County Summer Funding 2022

Autism Ontario Windsor-Essex County Summer Funding offers financial support to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and their families who reside in Windsor-Essex County. This funding helps individuals to participate in social learning, recreational, and educational activities that enhance quality of life and support community participation.

This program is available to our families in the Windsor-Essex County and is only made possible because of all of the incredible fundraising efforts from individuals and community partners throughout the years. We also cannot thank our dedicated volunteers enough for all their hard work and commitment as well.

Funds that can be reimbursed include:

• Respite Services
• Recreation Programs (sports, art, and music)
• Summer Camp Programs

Who can apply?

• Parent/Guardian of a child(ren) with a diagnosis of ASD or an adult with ASD - there is no age restriction

Please Note: This fund is only available to families residing in the Windsor-Essex County. All other families will be removed from the list. This Summer Funding Program has been funded through the generous support of fundraising events specific to Windsor-Essex County.

How do I apply for Summer Funding?

Apply: Complete the application form and submit it by June 25th, 2022 and you will be notified by June 28th, 2022 if you were approved. Funds must be spent between July 1st - August 31st, 2022.

Please Note: A separate application must be submitted for each family member who requests summer funding.

Meet the Eligibility Criteria: The person using the Summer Funding must have a diagnosis of ASD and the application must be submitted by the deadline date of June 15th, 2022. Proof of diagnosis must be provided. We strongly encourage everyone to volunteer with the organization, to help provide services like this.

Payment Process for Family Funding Program:

- Fill out the attached application.

- Proof of diagnosis can be mailed, faxed, or brought in to the office.

- Submit application before June 25th, 2022.

- Currently our office is not open to the public as per COVID -19 restrictions. All documents will need to be mailed to our office or email to livia@autismontario.com. At this time, we are accepting e-mail receipts due to COVID-19. Complete the Summer Funding Timesheet for payment and include the receipt. Please ensure that all information is clearly marked.

- Autism Ontario Provincial Office will issue a cheque payable to you. This process may take up to 10 weeks.

- Fulfill the requirements and submit requests for reimbursement. Once you are approved for funding, you will receive a notification of approval and amount by June 28th, 2022.

Please note:

The money must be used between July 1st and August 31st, 2022. If this is not possible, please call the office and other arrangements can be made. Cheques will not be issued in advance of receiving receipts/invoices/timesheets. It may take up to 10 weeks to get a cheque. September 11th, 2022 is the deadline for receipt submissions.
