Event description
A four-day retreat to Gambier Island for first and second year students at Simon Fraser University to connect and engage with the community.

About this event

Join the SFU Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue's CAMP - an immersive four-day retreat to Gambier Island. In a series of guided discussions and social gatherings, students from across various faculties will get the chance to connect with each other all while building their professional leadership skills, expanding their networking opportunities and bringing them closer to their university community

This retreat is also designed for students who want to trial a mini-version of Semester in Dialogue before fully enrolling. CAMP will introduce you to the most essential and useful tools of dialogue, such as:

  • Conversations to help you gain insight into complex problem
  • Opportunities to listen and speak from many diverse perspectives
  • Time for self reflection and self care to help you assess your own skills and abilities

Through CAMP, students will also receive one official SFU co-curricular credit and a chance to win some cool prizes.

Registering for the Event

CAMP aims to be intersectional, inclusive and accessible. It is for this reason that we provide multiple financial options for program admission. The general admission fee for this event is $100 (with all participants receiving one SFU co-curricular credit in their records). However, as we are committed to our standards of accessibility and equity, various payment options are available.

In your application, please choose the payment option that best allows you to show up in your position. If you have any questions or concerns, be sure to email us at dialogue@sfu.ca.

Proof of Vaccination Required

Following directives of BC Public Health, proof of vaccination using the BC Vaccine Card is now required to access certain non-essential activities, events and businesses at SFU. To join CAMP, you need to be fully vaccinated and to show your proof of vaccination.
