About this event

The NACE Southern Ontario Student Section (SOSS) is proud to announce that we will be hosting our 11th annual Research Symposium online! This will prevent the need for our students, faculty, and industry representatives to travel and congregate, ensuring the safety of all participants. This year’s symposium will be held on Thursday July 22nd and Friday July 23rd, 2021. It will feature keynote presentations from industry professionals, student oral and poster presentations, and an alumni panel!

Organizer NACE Southern Ontario Student Section

Organizer of NACE Southern Ontario Student Section (SOSS) 11th Annual Symposium

We are a student run organization dedicated to promoting corrosion science and technology. Our aim is to increase corrosion awareness among high school and university students by providing educational seminars and networking opportunities. Ultimately, we strive to inspire students, while emphasizing social responsibility and safety. We believe that introducing the topic of corrosion and protection is a very important step in the development of high school students that are interested in science and engineering. Our organization consists of university students (both undergraduate and graduate) who are involved in research in the fields of corrosion science and engineering, electrochemistry, and surface sciences. At the moment our section spans over three major universities in Southern Ontario, namely: University of Western Ontario, University of Toronto and McMaster University. We work in collaboration with other NACE sections, and we always look to collaborate with those who are also passionate about corrosion science and engineering.
