Join us on June 8 for a fun day of panfishing at Deer Creek Conservation Area. FUN "longest fish" derby and lunch included.

Entry to Park: There is an additional cost to enter the conservation area. $15 per car load or park on the road and walk-in for $6.00 per person. More information to be discussed in the Facebook group.

Deer Creek Conservation Area can be found just a short drive north of Long Point. This scenic park has 40 campsites and an 80-acre reservoir with a boat launch, fishing docks and a small swimming beach.

Bring a canoe, kayak or launch your own small boat but please note that only electric motors are permitted. The depth of the reservoir varies between 12 and 15 meters (40-50 feet).

Deer Creek is also a TackleShare Loaner Site. https://www.tackleshare.com/ If you are new and would like to give it a try you can call and reserve tackle and a rod 519-875-2874 | 1-877-990-9934.

There is a small shoreline that can provide shore fishing but most of the lake is accessed by watercraft. Once you have checked in, you can launch and go fishing.

8:00 am Arrive and check-in

8:30-12:30 Fishing/exploring

12:30 Group photo at the boat launch

12:30-1:30 Lunch and raffle ticket sales

1:30-3:00 Fishing/exploring

3:00 - 3:30 Submit your fish pictures for the derby

3:30-5:00 Raffle and derby results announced


We will run a FUN longest sunfish derby for a $2.00 entry. Once you are in the water, you may begin the derby. You will be submitting your longest panfish of the day can be bluegill, pumkinseed, rock bass, or crappie.


Lunch will be hamburgers, Caesar salad, potato chips and water.


What to Bring:

  • Fishing rod (recommended light, medium-light or medium weight spinning rod, fast or extra-fast action rod )
  • Fishing tackle for pan fish (jig heads, hooks, slip floats, small creature baits)
  • Worms (optional)
  • Lawn/Camp Chair
  • Kayak, canoe or small boat with electric motor


Dress according to weather conditions. Event is RAIN OR SHINE. Pavilion and washrooms onsite.
