Description

Topic: Safeguard Your Business and Create Value - Why IP Matters for Technology Companies

Why should you obtain intellectual property rights?
What intellectual property rights are available to me?
How do I efficiently obtain those rights?
How can I use the rights to generate business value?

Intellectual property (IP) rights – copyrights, designs, patents, trademarks, and trade secrets – may be the most important asset of any Canadian technology company, yet many overlook the steps necessary to fully realize the domestic and international potential of these rights. This workshop, broken down into four useful parts, will help small to medium size technology companies navigate the various processes for obtaining IP rights in Canada and around the world, and provide strategic insights for utilizing those rights to create business value for founders and investors.
