Description

Get to know Ontario's wonderful wild plants and mushrooms!

Join forager, wildcrafter, and educator Bryan Dowkes for an introduction to foraging. Learn how to safely identify, ethically harvest, and prepare wild summer edibles common to our forests, fields, and waterways.

Get to know species such as staghorn sumac, black berries, pineapple weed and more. The walk will take about 2.5 hours at a leisurely pace. Feel free to bring a notebook and camera.

Where: Orono Crown Lands. Meet in the Ochonski Rd. parking area accessible off of Ochonski Rd. at Ochonski and Station St. (just south of Taunton Rd.).

When: Sunday, August 18 from 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Note: Event will take place rain or shine. Come prepared for the weather!

Kid Friendly Event: Attendees 15 and under who are accompanied by an adult are free. Just RSVP to reserve the appropriate number of spaces.
