Description

WILD PACIFIC SALMON ARE IN DANGER

Watershed Watch Salmon Society’s mission is to catalyze efforts to protect and restore BC’s precious wild salmon. Through scientific expertise, strategic alliances, outreach programs, and innovative projects, Watershed Watch is at the forefront in sounding the alarm on threats to salmon, and in prompting action to help them.

Wild pacific salmon are a keystone species, meaning our entire ecosystem relies on their abundance. Human development has disconnected these fish from their natural spawning habitat across the Lower Mainland. As a non-profit organization, Watershed Watch has been working hard through their Connected Water's campaign to re-connect and restore these vital waterways.

THE SUPER SALMON FILM SCREENING

In order to bring this issue to light, Watershed Watch is co-hosting a free film screening of The Super Salmon, in partnership with Patagonia and Nada Grocery.

The film features the remarkable story of a salmon that makes the unlikely journey up the mighty Sustina River. Narrated by Mike Wood, this humorous, light-hearted, and emotional story highlights the issues that wild pacific salmon are currently facing in relation to human development. See the trailer here.

Prior to showing the film, Watershed Watch's Executive Director Aaron Hill will briefly speak to these issues and explain how the organization has been working towards re-connecting our wild salmon with their natural habitat.
