YMCA YBEAT Greater Vancouver
WHAT is YBEAT?
Youth Breakthrough to Employment and Training (YBEAT) is a free, 5-week online (via Zoom) program that supports youth experiencing mental health barriers to achieve their employment goals.
WHEN:
- July 28th - August 30th 2024
- Monday - Friday, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
PROGRAM INCLUDES:
- Pre-employment and job readiness skills, such as résumé building, interview prep, and job maintenance
- Supported job search and coaching towards a self-directed work placement after completion of the program
- Up to $700 cash in completion bonuses!
- Workplace communication and conflict resolution strategies
- Career planning, employment counseling, mentoring and coaching
- Workshops such as First Aid, Mindfulness, Interview Skils, Money Management, Personality Dimensions and more.
- 1-1 support from a dedicated Employment Coach
- FREE 6-month YMCA Membership
- And much more!
ELIGIBILITY
- Between 17 and 29 years old
- Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Confirmed Refugee
- Unemployed or precariously employed (<20 hours/week)
- Not attending full time school
- Experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood/depression, or other mental health barriers to employment
- Live in the Vancouver/Lower Mainland area
